Data the app stores on your device
Sidetone is local-first. Your settings, training progress and practice statistics are stored only on your device. This data is not sent to the developer, and no account or sign-in is required to use the app.
Sync via iCloud (Apple devices)
On iPhone, iPad and Mac, your settings and progress can synchronise across your own devices through Apple iCloud (iCloud key-value storage). This uses your personal iCloud account; the data is processed by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy, and the developer has no access to it. Sync happens only when your device is signed in to iCloud; if it is not, the app stores everything locally.
No tracking, analytics or advertising
The app contains no analytics, no tracking technologies and no advertising. This website uses no cookies and no analytics.
App downloads
When you download or update the app, the Apple App Store or Google Play Store processes data according to their own privacy policies. The developer only receives aggregated, anonymised statistics (for example download counts) and cannot identify individual users from them.
Website hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. When you visit it, the hosting provider automatically processes technical connection data (such as your IP address) in server logs, as is technically necessary to deliver the site securely. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Contacting the developer
If you send feedback or a support request by email, your email address and the contents of your message are processed solely to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). The app's feedback function may pre-fill the app version, build number and platform to help with support; you can review and edit the message before sending it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@wissmueller.net.
Children
Sidetone is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
